Making sense of safety
We speak "horse"
“There is something about the outside of the horse that is good for the inside of a man” – Winston Churchill
Horse riding, handling and working alongside horses and all that it entails can be a rewarding and enriching pastime or profession for those who choose to experience it.
The bond between a human and a horse is unlike any other as it is a rare blend of trust, respect and understanding at a level you don’t get with handling other animals, livestock or pets. As exhilarating and amazing as this is, it can create a false sense of security and those riding, working with and handling these magnificent beasts can easily forget how dangerous and unpredictable they, and the environment they are in, can be. Similarly, those who have little to no equestrian knowledge and/or experience may not fully grasp all the dangers and risks involved when in equine environments.
“If a thing is right it can be done, and if it is wrong it can be done without; and a good man will find a way.” ― Anna Sewell, Black Beauty
The areas of safety surrounding the whole equestrian and equine based industry can seem complex and daunting, maybe even a night “mare”. I know all about the ups and downs of a life alongside horses, combining my professional and personal experience and expertise, to offer any equestrian-based business working directly with horses, or work with in the equestrian industry generally, my support and advice.
I can help you gallop towards achieving a safe environment for those with two legs as well as those with four.
I promise you no non-sense, just horse-sense, straight from the horses’ mouth!
